Over the summer I bought a used trailer because I was tired of tearing up the interior of my truck. Trailer is too damn heavy to move by hand, so I bought a trailer dolly.
I was looking at it and I just can’t help myself and wonder - can this thing do other tricks? Can I make mods to it so I can use for something else?
For instance, use it to move heavy garbage cans towards the curb for pickup.
What else can I do with it? I need it to do more than one thing.

It shouldn’t be used as a chair.

I can’t help you with any tricks but I can say thank you because now I might have to buy one for my heavier than I want to pick up trailer!

You could attach a strong magnet and use it as a nails/bolts/stray metal roller. Might also make a seat you can attach to the ball - unless you’re fine with it as-is.

It’s really nice. Makes moving the trailer out of the way much easier

I usually throw my fasteners on a table... or keep them in Tupperware. Too messy on the ground plus risk of flat tire.

i have a snow blower.... I was contemplating adding a tow hitch bumper gizmo. That would make a nice horizontal bar. Might be useful when moving a couch down the driveway or something

I’m sure you probably could use it for trash cans. If you were to fashion a couple of angle iron arms that could attach to the dolly on the opposite side of the wheels. Maybe just cut a notch out of the iron so it fits over the iron on the “axle”.
Or maybe attach a rope to the ball and then attach that rope to a tarp so you can pull yard debris without having to bend over to pick up the tarp?

You can mover other people’s trailers without their knowledge or consent.

Put a female end for a hitch, they use it to lift up the back of cars, front end on dolly’s. It make moving cars not under power easy.

It has a female end. The square bar with a ball - it has ability to come out or adjust height.

I am not that nefarious. I also don’t know that many people who own trailers to make it a joke. It borders a line with theft

say. that’s not a bad idea. I hate picking up those fucking leaves. Why can’t one of those firefighting airplanes load up on crazy glue and dump it on all the trees. Make those damn leaves stick.

I hate raking. I tell my wife we’re moving somewhere that doesn’t have seasons. Like Hawaii.

you can make that thing do just about anything you want.. that hitch receiver in the middle makes it all possible........ you can turn it into a portable workbench/ wagon, all you need to make is a flat deck for the hitch, that centers the weight between the wheels. you can turn it into a three wheel hand truck(with a post in the middle), by making a blade that catches the bottom side of the receiver and is upright when leaned forward. you can build a post(fits in the receiver) to mount a ratchet strap/ chain with boomer, that you can use to hug whatever you want to lift, and then lift it up and carry it. you can use the bottom side of the receiver, and put a an extension on a pivot, another axle, and have a 5 wheel flat belly single drop lowboy wagon. you can use the receiver, and put a post with an arm, and mount a FEW droplights to it, and have a decent worklight stand at night
that hitch receiver gives you all the options your imagination(and an arc welder, and some scrap steel) can take advantage of.........

sahara! no leaves at all. Every once in a while, you see a nice pool, 40 virgins and 3 palm trees, but the closer you get, the faster they vanish

Did you know they make a gas-powered self-propelled version of this? I’ve used one, moving boats around in a gigantic concrete-floor storage building. Honestly, it was so damn loud that it was borderline not worth it compared to the manual kind like you have. But for big dual-axle trailers, there was no substitute. Until we started using a tiny electric forklift instead, with a hole drilled in the end of one fork for a ball.

Yeah. I saw the gas powered ones. They also make electric powered ones. Those were a bit of an overkill for my use. I only use it few times a year.
